Blue & White

I did this last weekend for a bridal shower. I was told I could do whatever I wanted and I found out from the bride her colors were Kentucky blue and white. I didn't have time to make gumpaste flowers since I only found out about the cake on Thursday afternoon and already had cupcakes due Saturday that were time consuming. I decided to try my hand at scroll work.

The sharp contrast was really pretty and the dots helps cover a couple crumbs I couldn't get out of the base icing. I tried a new chocolate recipe which was delicious! It was Martha Stewart's Ultimate Chocolate Cake.

The scroll work is really pretty. I've got a pattern press I've used just once. The dots make it look like you worked extra hard on detail.

Love the colors... The pattern and writing are gorgeous!!! I wish i could have a peek on the inside. I'm sure that wouldn't go over well.. LOL
